“3:3”
SULUJ GALLERY BELGRADE
EXHIBITION OPENING: NOVEMBER 10TH AT 7PM
The exhibition THREE TO THREE, a project by art historian and curator Jelena Balević, brings together six young artists — Zorana Stevanović, Nikola Miloradović, Teodora Nešković, Petar Milošević, Katarina Gujaničić, Veselj Saliji — with the aim of initiating encounters and exploring possibilities for collaborative creation.
Born out of the need to examine the potential for dialogue and collaboration between different artistic profiles, authorial poetics, languages, approaches, and creative sensibilities, this exhibition represents a meeting point for young artists coming from two higher education institutions that have, for decades, shaped the identity and aesthetic paradigms of contemporary artistic practice in the country.
The deliberate gathering of artists from the two most often contrasted systems or “camps” — the Faculty of Fine Arts and the Faculty of Applied Arts in Belgrade — opens a space for creative communication in which confrontation is transformed into a field of collaboration.
Each pair of artists, in addition to exhibiting their individual works, jointly develops a conceptual framework and creates a piece that does not belong to either of their individual poetics, but rather emerges as the result of a process of interaction, negotiation, alignment, and mutual interweaving of different expressions and intentions during their time in the gallery.
In this way, the gallery space is transformed into a dynamic laboratory that explores the boundaries of individual and collective authorship, as well as the possibilities of synergy between fine and applied art, constructing a multi-layered visual structure that reflects the complexity of contemporary artistic practices and personal creative processes.
The exhibition setting transcends its expected, predefined framework, evolving into a processual form — an open studio, a workshop, and a place of experimentation — with an emphasis on the act of collective thinking and creation.
The audience is invited to observe and follow this process throughout the duration of the exhibition, November 10-21, 2025 at SULUJ Gallery, (Belgrade, Terazije 26 Street, II floor) as well as at its conclusion — the presentation of new works that are not the result of compromise, but rather a manifestation of the plurality embodied in this unique artistic encounter.
During the exhibition there will be informal gatherings with the exhibition participants featuring conversation about art, inspiration, and the creative process.
